The Nashik Women’s Cell organized a half-day programme for the women of Panodi and Sangamner on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Nearly 80 women participated. Fr Neville Fernandes CSsR was the Resource Person; he spoke about the importance of bringing up the girl child in Christian Values and Marian devotion. He challenged the women gathered and motivated them to treat both boys and girls equally as both are God’s gift to them. The women were also fortunate to have Ms Mayuri R. Shelke, Talathi (Revenue Officer) address them. Ms Shelke encouraged the women to foster Christian faith and live value-based lives. She shared her experience of carrying out her duty as Talathi, in sincerity, without falling prey to bribes as taught to her by her parents.
Sr Shaila Ruzario, Diocesan Coordinator, Women’s Cell, enlightened the women on ‘Women as being the promoter of life’. Through different videos on ‘Miracle of life’, Sr Shaila brought home to the women how intrinsically each one is formed in the womb of the mother. Therefore, we need to live our lives in gratitude to our parents, and respect the individuality of one another. Sr Shaila also created an awareness of the importance of having a girl child in the family and avoiding abortion.
The programme ended with lunch.
