Training sessions were held on Panchayati Raj, Sustainable Development, Climate change, PCOD, and HIV/AIDS; 233 women benefited from these sessions.
Farmers’ Day was celebrated on January 11, 2023. 115 persons participated in the event.
An exposure visit was arranged for 51 children to Aurangabad on January 28, 2023. All the children enjoyed the trip and the snacks which were distributed during the journey.
51 women went to Kasare village in Parner taluka for exposure visit on February 21, 2023. The women were encouraged to think about different possibilities of village development.
Samaj Vikas Samiti celebrated International Women’s Day on March 17, 2023. The theme for this year was - Digital All: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality. 400 women were present for this event.
Samaj Vikas Samiti organised different skills training for women in order to make them self-reliant. Some of the training included poultry rearing, pickle-making, etc. Some of the SHG members were helped financially for Income Generating Activities.
Thirteen women completed basic tailoring course and fifteen girls completed basic computer course.
Free health checkups were conducted in Mangalapur and Khedle Parmanand. 333 patients benefited from these checkups. They were treated for fever, cold, cough, body pain, weakness, etc.
CAPACITY BUILDING
Domestic Violence:
Training on Domestic Violence was conducted on February 7, 2023 at Samaj Vikas Samiti. 43 SHG members were present for the training. Ms. Shubhangi Mane from Ahmednagar was the resource person. She gave information about the services provided by Sakhi and Bharosa Cell, two units where the women can approach for solutions. These centres help the women and their spouse/family members to come together and to settle the issues so that they are able to live joyfully. She told the women not to become victims by remaining silent, but act when it is required. She said that if the women in the house are safe, the whole family is safe.
Career Guidance/ Soft/Life Skills for youth:
A Career Guidance session was organised on January 18, 2023. The resource person was Mr Sachin Auchare from Don Bosco Training Institute, Pune.
Another Career Guidance programme was organised on February 27, 2023 at Kharvandi village where 51 children/youth were present. Mr Mukund Shivaji Bhoge was the resource person. He explained about different careers like business, ITI, banking, police, computers, doctor, nursing, artist, Chartered Accountant, army/navy, fine arts etc. He also mentioned that there are many other small careers which can bring income to the family. He stressed how to handle challenges while planning and pursuing one’s career. It was interesting to see some of our SHG women sitting with their children to learn from the discussion.
Another session on Career Guidance was arranged on April 13, 2023 at Samaj Vikas Samiti. The resource person for the day was Fr Ajay D’Monte from Don Bosco. 41 children benefited from this session.
