Bp Barthol Barretto visited St Francis Xavier Church, Tilaknagar, on August 13, 2024, and met the Religious Sisters, Youth, Parish Council, and the Priests.
At Anand Vihar Convent, the Sisters of the Helpers of Mary shared about their activities such as visiting families, women’s self-help groups (SHGs), tuition class for the poor children, boarding for the children from poor and broken families, besides parish work.
Bp Barthol visited four poor and sorrowful families, prayed for them, and urged them to recite the Rosary in the family.
He met a group of 25 Youth and enquired about their education and future plans. He advised the youth to stay away from drugs, control mobile usage, and avoid harassment of women. He invited them to come regularly for Mass on Sundays, and meet as a Youth Group once a month. He asked them to bring other youth who are away from the Church.
He urged the 20 PPC members to bring the people together, along with children and youth, by organizing various events. He suggested that the PPC take up one issue every meeting and follow-up. He was concerned that many children and youth do not come for Sunday Mass; this must be addressed by the priests and the PPC. Catechism for the children must be given top priority.
He met the priests individually, and advised them to pray together and take care of each other.
