A Day of Spiritual Enrichment and Community Engagement in Shirpur
On Sunday July 28, 2024, Bishop Barthol Barretto made a significant pastoral visit to the Vishwa Mandal Sevashram (VMS), Shirpur, bringing warmth and spiritual leadership to the community. His visit began with a stop at the Jesuit Community in Shirpur, where he spent time engaging with the Jesuit Fathers who have been ministering to the needs of the local people. Following this, Bishop Barthol visited the Canossian Sisters' Community, expressing gratitude for their dedicated services to the people of Shirpur. The Bishop's presence was a source of encouragement and support for the Sisters who work tirelessly to uplift the people, irrespective of caste, creed or colour.
Later in the day, Bishop Barthol celebrated the Holy Eucharist with the Pavra Adivasi Communities, a deeply spiritual event that brought together the faithful in prayer and reflection. The celebration was marked by a small but vibrant cultural program performed by the boarding Adivasi boys and girls, showcasing their rich traditions and talents. The Bishop also took time out to visit three Adivasi families, offering them personal blessings and words of comfort. His visit left a lasting impact on the community, reinforcing the Church's commitment to serving the spiritual and material needs of the Adivasi people in Shirpur.
