National Youth Sunday

The Youth Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Nashik celebrated the National Youth Sunday on September 22, 2024 at Loyola Divyavani, Shrirampur. It was a full day programme for the youth of the parishes of Ahmednagar district. The youth from the seventeen parishes were present for the programme. The following parishes participated in the celebration of the National Youth Sunday: Ashoknagar, Babhaleshwar, Ghodegaon, Ghulewadi, Haregaon, Kendal, Kopargaon, Manmad, Newasa, Panodi, Pravaranagar, Rahata, Rahuri, Rahuri Factory, Sangamner, Shrirampur and Tilaknagar. The total number of the youth participants was 228. There were thirteen priests and ten religious Sisters present along with their youth. The programme included the ice-breakers, sessions, praise and worship, entertainment and the Eucharist.

Fr Kishor Vidhate, Diocesan Youth Director conducted a session on Moral Values. Fr Nelson Pereira conducted the praise and worship session where the youth were motivated to have a tremendous love for the Church and the Eucharist. Bishop Barthol presided over the Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, Bp Barthol encouraged the youth to be agents of change at home, in the neighbourhood and society at large. Towards the end, he motivated the youth to become pilgrims of hope as we journey together into the Jubilee 2025.

The priests, religious Sisters and the youth expressed their sincere gratitude for the programme organized for the youth. Indeed, it was a memorable experience for the youth.
