Bishop Barthol Barretto visits St Theresa Girls’ Hostel, Haregaon

Our little village of Haregaon was graced by the presence of Bishop Barthol Barretto, Bishop of Nashik Diocese on Sunday, November 24, 2024. In celebration of Children’s Day, Bishop Barthol visited St Theresa Girls’ Hostel, Haregaon, and brought immense joy and excitement to the hearts of all the 87 girls residing at this Hostel which caters primarily to the all-round welfare of poor and under-privileged children.

Bishop Barthol graciously and generously, distributed valuable gifts to all the children. A rather large bag was handed over to each child. It contained essential gifts – a warm blanket, a soft towel, a writing pad, select toiletries and delicious snacks – thoughtfully prepared and packed by Bishop Barthol and his team of volunteers. There were smiles and cheers all around as the children sincerely appreciated the genuine concern of the Bishop for their well-being.

A heartwarming moment of the visit was when Bishop Barthol Barretto sat down upon the floor and engaged the girls in delightful conversation. The girls were thrilled and overjoyed, cherishing the rare opportunity to interact personally with the Bishop. This gesture of humility and kindness on the part of the Bishop has left a lasting impression on all the girls, making them feel valued and appreciated. Bishop Barthol’s compassionate and inclusive approach has uplifted the spirits of the children and given them a sense of belonging to a loving and caring community. This event has indeed become truly memorable for all concerned.

This visit of Bishop Barthol Barretto to St Theresa Girls’ Hostel, Haregaon, has instilled in all of us – the value of celebrating the essence of childhood and the importance of nurturing and supporting young minds to grow and develop into the wonderful persons that God meant them to be. The loving concern of Bishop Barthol for the welfare and progress of the children has left an indelible mark on their hearts. We will all cherish the memory of his visit to our little village of Haregaon.
